I am humbled by the nomination to the slate of candidates for election to serve on the Members Committee of Terrafirma as the Mountains & Plains Region representative. Over the years I have aspired to be involved in the protection and betterment of the places and things I love, whether it is open prairie or high alpine trout. This nomination not only allows me to continue my personal goal of involvement with these issues, but it also allows me to advocate for all the land trusts in the Mountain & Plains Region, including Northern Prairies Land Trust The provision of conservation defense liability insurance is critical to the future of land trusts, and I look forward to serving on the Members Committee to ensure its continued viability.
I see my role on the Members Committee evolving with time. Initially, my role will be to absorb and retain as much information as possible from the current Member I replace. After that, I see my role as an advocate for the continued viability Terrafirma. This necessarily entails both maintaining current assets and members, and also seeking to expand members, participation, and assets. Additionally, given my analytical nature and propensity for details, I see a role with accurate records and reporting of the same to the membership. Both with the Northern Prairies Land Trust and Cherry Creek Anglers, I have served as board secretary. Keeping information moving between the Committee and the members is critical to the sustainability of the organization.
