Nomination Statement for Pacific Coast Region Candidate

The land trust community excels because of its generous spirit and willingness to share experiences and resources. In keeping with that spirit, I would be honored to serve as the representative of the Pacific Region on the Terrafirma Members Committee, supporting Terrafirma and the invaluable resources it provides to land trusts as we work together to uphold our commitment to permanent conservation.

I have served as the Executive Director of Great Land Trust since 2016. Our land trust is deeply committed to conserving the very best of Alaska, having completed 70 conservation projects that permanently protect 57,000 acres of wildlife habitat and 100 miles of salmon streams in Southcentral Alaska.

At GLT, we are most proud of our steadfast commitment to uphold protections on conserved land and honor our promises to landowners, funders, community members, and the land trust community at large. We have demonstrated this commitment by stalwartly defending conserved land including successfully resolving two Terrafirma covered claims for major violations. Both settlements allowed for GLT to recoup all costs, reimburse Terrafirma, and implement robust restoration activities on the impacted properties. Sharing these experiences with the land trust community during Terrafirma’s risk management series, LTA’s Legal Symposium, LTA’s webinar series, and Rally has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me.

I am reliable, organized, experienced, and passionate. If elected, I will bring my 20+ years of non-profit management and leadership experience, creative problem solving, and passion for quality conservation and conservation defense to the Members Committee, representing the Pacific Region.

It has been my privilege to serve on the Terrafirma member committee since September 2023 and I look forward to the opportunity to continue to represent the Pacific Region
